Four bus routes around Arlozorov have followed updated paths since 5 October 2026. Metropoline announced changes to routes 28, 55, 59 and 379 because of street works. For regular passengers, the main change is where to board or alight: some stops were removed from the relevant route and replaced by others on Jabotinsky, Kikar HaMedina, Shaul HaMelech and Weizmann.

The update applies to the routes and directions specified by the operator. It does not mean every bus has stopped serving those stops, nor establish that the return route matches the outward journey. Before going to your usual stop, check the route number and destination together, especially when traveling near Ichilov or Kikar HaMedina.

Changes to routes 28, 59 and 379

According to the Metropoline notice on Arlozorov stop changes, routes 28, 59 and 379 no longer serve Arlozorov/Derekh Namir, stop 21035, and Arlozorov/Weizmann, stop 25882, in the specified directions. They are replaced by Jabotinsky/Derekh Namir, stop 25914, and Kikar HaMedina/Weizmann, stop 25887. The notice's direction heading lists Kiryat Ono, Or Yehuda and Tel Aviv.

Stop numbers distinguish similar names and stops on different sides of a junction. If you saved a favorite stop on your phone, check whether its number is one of the two removed. If so, select your boarding point again using the updated route rather than merely changing the street name in the search.

The grouped announcement does not specify which of the three destinations each route serves. Check the stop list for your selected journey. If your destination stop is absent, do not assume the bus reaches it because it used to. The sequence of stops provides a more useful answer than the route number alone.

Route 55 toward Kiryat Ono: The stop near Ichilov changes too

On route 55 toward Kiryat Ono, the Arlozorov/Derekh Namir, Arlozorov/Weizmann and Ichilov Hospital/Weizmann stops were removed. Added stops are Beit Hadar Dafna on Shaul HaMelech Boulevard and Courthouse/Weizmann. Passengers leaving the hospital area should check which new stop suits their starting point.

For a medical appointment, visit or work in the area, search for the exact address of the entrance you need. The complex's name alone may not identify the most convenient walk. No verified measurements between every stop and hospital entrance are provided here, so check a map according to your needs and walking limitations.

This update also concerns the Kiryat Ono direction. Do not use its stop list as proof of an identical change in the opposite direction. For a round trip, save two separate itineraries. This is especially important if someone accompanies you on arrival but you return alone, or your walking capacity differs between the two parts of the day.

A permanent route update, with no published end date

Metropoline defines the update as a permanent route change from 5 October. Passengers should not expect the previous route to return the following day simply because works caused the change. The notice gives no end date on which to base plans to use the old stops.

This definition does not mean the works themselves will last forever. It describes the published service pattern. If another change is announced, routes will need to be adjusted accordingly. Until then, the new list is the basis for planning on the relevant date and in the relevant direction.

The publication concerns routes and stops. It does not establish that fares, frequency or last‑bus times changed, nor promise that no other localized updates will occur. Distinguish the permanent stop update from brief works notices applying to a particular evening or date.

If traveling to a fixed‑time appointment, allow for the walk from the new stop to the address. Alighting time is not building‑arrival time. Instead of adding one estimate for everyone, check your route: entrance location, crossings and any further transfer can change which alternative suits you. You can then choose between a closer stop and a more direct journey based on the complete route.

Three checks that prevent waiting at the wrong stop

Start by selecting the full destination, then check the proposed boarding stop. Compare its number with the updated list, and finally review the direction and subsequent stops. These checks complement one another: a familiar stop name is insufficient when the route now runs on another street.

When explaining the change to a parent, child or visitor unfamiliar with the area, send the stop's name and number rather than simply saying to go to Weizmann. Include a clear meeting point if someone is accompanying the passenger. The number confirms that everyone means the same boarding location even on a busy street or where signs are less prominent.

If the new route adds an unsuitable walk, compare an option starting closer, even if it requires a transfer. Check the whole journey to the address, not just time on the bus. The aim is a comfortably manageable route after four services changed stops passengers in the area relied on.
