Passengers on routes 18, 48 and 69 in Givat Shmuel should check their boarding stops again before Thursday, 5 November 2026. On 29 October, Metropoline announced a permanent route change because of works at the Uri Zvi Greenberg and Menachem Begin Boulevard junction. The change depends on the route and direction, so a stop name alone is not enough.

At the center of Metropoline's route‑change notice is Park Ramon/Menachem Begin Boulevard, stop 32910. It will be removed from the journeys specified in the notice, with stops added on nearby streets. This is not an announcement canceling the three routes, nor does it mean the stop is closing to every other route that may serve it.

Also verify the operator and service area. A route number can appear on more than one journey in the transport network, so searching for 48 alone may produce a different service. The Givat Shmuel update concerns the stops and directions in Metropoline's notice. If search results show different origins and destinations, search again using your address and travel date. Do not choose a route simply because its number is familiar without checking where it runs.

Routes 18 and 69 toward Ayalon Mall

For both routes toward Ayalon Mall, the call at stop 32910, Park Ramon/Menachem Begin Boulevard, will be canceled. The operator says stop 4235, Uri Zvi Greenberg/Jabotinsky, and stop 31435, Zevulun Hammer/Yoni Netanyahu, will be added. Save these stop numbers alongside the route number.

Anyone used to waiting at Park Ramon will need to choose a different boarding point on the updated route. The notice gives no walking time from the old stop to either new one, so check the journey from your address. A stop that looks close on a map is not necessarily convenient if reaching it means crossing a junction or going around roadworks.

This description applies toward Ayalon Mall. It should not automatically be used for the return journey, even when the route number is identical. Enter the origin, destination and travel date when checking a journey, and ensure the stop list matches the direction you will actually take that morning or afternoon.

Route 48 differs between directions

Toward Ramat Gan, Metropoline lists a new call at stop 32904, Uri Zvi Greenberg/Jabotinsky. Toward Petah Tikva, stop 32910 at Park Ramon will be removed, with stop 4235 at Uri Zvi Greenberg/Jabotinsky and stop 31435 at Zevulun Hammer/Yoni Netanyahu added.

One detail is easy to miss: Uri Zvi Greenberg/Jabotinsky appears under two different numbers, 32904 and 4235, depending on the listed direction. Sending a relative only the junction name could direct them to a point unsuitable for their journey. Send the route, direction and stop number together.

For example, anyone checking route 48 toward Petah Tikva should look for the stops added in that direction, rather than simply finding a similar name. This is an individual journey check, not an assumption that both directions now follow matching routes. The announcement also sets no change in fares or service frequency.

Early‑week works and a Thursday route change

Separately from the bus announcement, NTA, the urban transport infrastructure company, published a Purple Line works notice for Zevulun Hammer Street on 29 October. It schedules work from 1 to 5 November, between 09:00 and 21:00, on the stretch between Derech Hamelech and Menachem Begin Boulevard. It also announces closure of Zevulun Hammer Street between Derech Hamelech and Yoni Netanyahu Street.

NTA's notice includes an additional arrangement for 4 November: Zevulun Hammer and Uri Zvi Greenberg streets will close to vehicles between Yoni Netanyahu and Jabotinsky streets. Residents' access is to be enabled with marshals directing movement. These are dated work arrangements and should be checked separately from the new stops listed by the operator from 5 November.

The distinction matters for planning. NTA describes a work window, while Metropoline calls its route adjustment permanent and publishes no end date. Do not assume buses will return to their previous stops as soon as the work window ends, or that every traffic arrangement is identical on each day.

Plan before discovering the change at the stop

Begin by checking the date on which you intend to travel. A route displayed for an earlier day will not necessarily be the 5 November route. If a journey planner does not yet show the new stops, consult the operator's notices and ask the national public transport information line, Kol Kav, at *4515, also cited by NTA.

When asking, give the route number, direction and stop number. This focuses the question more effectively than asking generally whether there is a bus near Park Ramon. If your journey includes a connection, check the alighting stop and the walk to the next service, not only the first boarding point.

Passengers with a stroller, mobility aid or difficulty walking should also check actual access to the alternative stop. Listing a new stop does not fully describe the sidewalk, crossings or work conditions at every moment. The notices checked give no guaranteed journey time, so allow a margin before an appointment or the start of work.

Before the first journey on the updated route, save the stop details and operator notice somewhere easy to open. Check them again shortly before leaving, as work arrangements can be updated. The central change is already clear: from 5 November, the specified journeys on these three routes require an adjusted boarding point according to direction and stop number.
